Building Sustainable Borders (B.S.B.) International Summer Exchange Program, the initiative is offering High School schools from the Dominican Republic and Haiti a chance to access Pre-College study and travel abroad bound opportunities in the United States (U.S.). The students participate in our Summer Student Exchange Program from July through August. It’s an educational initiative collaborating with 2 year community colleges and universities throughout the New York and Metropolitan area. We are offering high school and university students from Hispaniola a life altering experience of participating in a two week Summer Exchange ESL Pre-College Program at several US universities, a phenomenal opportunity for students living in extreme poverty from Hispaniola. Student participates in this ESL Pre College Program, are entering their sophomore or junior year of high school and can take advantage of taking college level courses and experience life as a college student. This chance of traveling and studying abroad helps these young people discover and realize they have a real options in their lives of striving to attend a U.S. College and successfully graduate.

Additionally, our SEP ESL Pre-College program provides students with an opportunity of touring area colleges throughout the metropolitan area of New York City, and offers educational workshops design for teaching our international students to access the resources available to understand the ESL programs, available to increase ACT, SAT, TEFOL examine scores, take students on various community service activities throughout their summer experience.

It’s consist of a two week,residential experiences at one of our collaboration colleges or university in the New York City and metropolitan area where students live in the dorms on campus and attend classes during the week. The students courses are being instructed by veteran teachers and university professors, and workshops are offered to help them understanding the academic, social and cultural difference they can expect to experience studying in the U.S. The program also involves corporate partners, local school districts, nonprofit organizations, and church organizations. Our corporate partners provide classroom speakers, financial support, role models,field trips, and expertise in the teaching of science and engineering. With Building Sustainable Borders (B.S.B.) ESL Precollege, students entering their sophomore or junior year of high school can apply to take college level courses and experience life as a college student. It’s our long term goal of preparing these students of one day accessing scholarship opportunities of attending college in America.
